Giraffe Childcare Milltown is nestled in behind the church at Mount St Anne’s next to Wilde and Green coffee shop. The centre is on route from Dundrum, Goatstown, Donnybrook and Clonskeagh.
Our crèche has a warm, homely feel and has 10 spacious rooms, all brightly decorated and arranged to offer each child the chance to explore and investigate their environment, to enable them to learn the skills that they need to develop to become confident, happy learners. We have a designated sensory room for our wobblers to stimulate all their senses and we have a wonderful role play area for the toddlers and preschool children. We offer a broad curriculum underpinned by Aistear and Siolta frameworks with a range of opportunities for children to explore and learn through play. All the rooms are on the ground floor and have easy access to our lovely secure outdoor play area for the children to enjoy all year round.

We are creating new learning areas in our garden and will have an outdoor growing area and mud kitchen where the children can dig for worms and bugs. All our staff are Garda vetted, are fully qualified and attend regular training. We are open all year round, Monday to Friday except for bank holidays. I joined Giraffe in 2006 as a carer in Giraffe Cherrywood. In 2011, I became Deputy Manager in our Milltown branch. I moved to Stepaside as centre Manager in 2012. As a mother of 5 boys I understand the importance of nurturing a child’s independent learning of every age. I hold a level 6 diploma in Early Childhood Education, and have extensive experience in early years settings. I rejoined the team in Miltown after my Maternity leave in 2016, our team is passionate about providing exceptional care to all the children and their families.

I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to all Milltown Child Care staff and management who were extremely friendly, supportive and helpful throughout the settling in stages. Their kindness enabled my son to swiftly settle and make friends in the new environment. We, as parents were also reassured at all times and regularly updated on our son’s demeanour while away from us.
